Who Am I and Why Should You Listen to Me?
I’ve been an Ordained Baptist minister since 1984.
I’ve had a remarkably wide variety of experience in my life, which has prepared me to have unique qualifications to examine the subject of Wealth and Spirituality.
I served in the U.S. Air Force, I was a Wildlife Officer for the State of Florida, a Livestock Theft Investigator for the State of Florida, and a manager of a tree farm. Currently I’m an independent sales representative for Weaver Leather and several other Western wear companies.

I Was Spiritual, But I Was Broke!
A few years ago, when I was considering my future retirement, I realized I didn't have anywhere near enough money to retire on. Like many Christians, I had an unexamined belief that if you are truly spiritual, it’s NOT OK to focus on money. It’s not even OK to make or keep much money. It’s certainly not OK to be rich!
Doesn’t it say this in the Bible? That we will be condemned if we accumulate wealth?
Sound familiar? Does this sound like the thinking of someone you know, perhaps even you?
This belief meant that I never had enough money, let alone enough to save up, especially for my own retirement. After doing some soul searching, I realized I had a deep-seated, unexamined belief about this.
I didn’t believe it was all right to be rich.
Where did this belief come from? Jesus didn't have worldly possessions, but his path was quite different from the path most of us are called to. He said that whatever you place your attention on, that's what you'll get.
I knew I had to do something different. If I was EVER going to retire, I was going to need some different results. I wasn’t getting any younger.
Follow Christ, And All Things Follow!
As
Albert Einstein puts it, “Insanity is
doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different
results.”
I wondered
whether changing my belief to “It’s
all right to be rich” would stand up to a truly
spiritual life.
So I began an intensive period of
studying Scripture. I wanted to learn how to be rich AND spiritual at
the same time. And what I discovered in Scripture surprised me
– it is absolutely possible! It’s right there in
the Bible!
First seek the Kingdom of God, and
turn your life to follow Christ, and everything follows from that. When
you accept Christ as your personal savior, putting him first, all
things become possible. Including not only having enough
money for your own needs, but having enough to do good works as well.
I found many passages in the Bible that clearly show how a
spiritual life leads to riches. I can prove it!

seek the kingdom of God first. I spent a lot of time in
prayer and study to figure that out. Of course, I had to figure out HOW
